Innovation as the Engine of Progress in the Liquid Gas Industry

Across the global energy landscape, innovation has become more than a competitive advantage, it is a necessity. As industries respond to rising energy demand, decarbonisation goals, and shifting consumer expectations, technological progress is redefining how energy is produced, distributed, and used. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Liquid Gas sector, where innovation continues to unlock new applications, improve efficiency, and expand access to cleaner energy solutions worldwide.

Over the past two decades, global LPG consumption and supply have grown by more than 150 million tonnes, reaching an estimated 380 million tonnes today. This growth reflects not only rising demand, but also the industry’s ability to innovate, developing safer technologies, smarter distribution models, and new end-use applications across residential, industrial, commercial, agricultural, transport, and marine sectors. Crucially, this progress has enabled millions of users worldwide to transition from traditional fuels to LPG, benefiting from a cleaner, more efficient, and more versatile energy source.

With similarly strong growth projected over the next 20 years, continued innovation will be essential to ensure LPG remains at the forefront of the Liquid Gas industry. From digitalisation and automation to new combustion technologies and renewable liquid gases, the sector’s future will be shaped by ideas that move swiftly from concept to implementation.

Since its launch in 2006 by the World LPG Association (WLGA) in Chicago, the Global Technology Conference (GTC) has played a pivotal role in advancing innovation within the Liquid Gas industry. Now a cornerstone of Liquid Gas Week, GTC has consistently provided a global platform where technology developers, industry leaders, researchers, and practitioners come together to share ideas, showcase breakthroughs, and accelerate progress.

Each year, GTC highlights cutting-edge technologies, practical applications, and forward-thinking strategies that directly contribute to the industry’s evolution. Over nearly two decades, hundreds of new technologies, concepts, and case studies have been presented at GTC, many of which have gone on to shape real-world solutions and support the industry’s sustained growth. This strong pipeline, from innovation to implementation, is a defining strength of the conference and a key reason it continues to deliver value to the global liquid gas community.

As the industry prepares for its next phase of growth and transformation, GTC2026 in Istanbul will be no exception. The conference will once again serve as a catalyst for technological leadership, providing a forum to explore emerging trends, share operational insights, and address the challenges and opportunities facing the Liquid Gas sector.

From incremental improvements to breakthrough innovations, GTC2026 will showcase how technology can support sustainability goals, enhance safety and efficiency, and expand LPG’s role in a rapidly changing energy ecosystem. By submitting an abstract, you can showcase your ideas, technologies, research, or real-world experiences to a global audience, and to help shape the future of the Liquid Gas industry.
